Established in 1886, as the original weather vane that sits proudly atop the hotel tower displays, the original vision for the hotel was to lure investors for mining from eastern cities to the tiny town now thriving at the height of the gold boom. After being closed for over 30 years, the building was restored it to its original elegance.

Each of the Hotel's 12 rooms are elegantly and uniquely decorated, all with breathtaking views. All rooms are comfortably designed with queen size beds, large bathrooms, TV with DVD/VHS plus telephone and free wireless internet, and individual controls for heat and air conditioning. The rooms are opulently designed with period furnishings and wall coverings. Many include original hotel furnishings that have been restored. All have been designed to maintain the historical significance of the hotel while catering to the needs of today's guest. The hotel offers three categories of rooms: Luxury Rooms, Junior Suites and Deluxe Suites.

Recent restorations modernized the entire structure to meet the needs and cares of today's traveler while preserving the property's historical grandeur.

For a great "happy hour", the 2nd floor Voodoo Lounge is a popular with locals and visitors, as is the main floor Bistro Bar. In warm weather, the Courtyard is a lovely spot to relax with a glass of wine or special coffee drink. Reserve the Grand Ballroom for special events in an elegant atmosphere. Our wine cellar holds over 300 vintages from around the world.
