Colorado Boy Pub and Brewery

Colorado Boy is a small corner pub in a wonderful 1915 brick building in the old section of downtown Ridgway. The brewery is in full view from the antique oak bar, so that you can watch the brewing process while enjoying your pint.

We use only domestic organic malts in our fine ales and the selection changes weekly. All our electricity is wind power. Our hot water for brewing comes from solar collectors on the roof. All spent brewing grain and yeast is fed to local cattle.

That's all fine and good, but we realize it's about the beer. So come in and have a pint and let us know what you think.

Colorado Boy is owned and operated by Tom & Sandy Hennessy who have been in the brewing business since 1993, starting with IL Vicino in Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, and Salida, Colorado. After selling the brewpubs to their partners, they next opened the Palisade Brewery in western Colorado. After being approached to sell that brewery, Tom & Sandy decided to move closer to the mountains and Ridgway was the place.

Tom has been pushing the idea of Frankenbrew since he made a video on how to build inexpensive brewing systems in 1995. Colorado Boy is the culmination of years of owning and operating different breweries. Stop by and see how small and efficient Frankenbrew works.
