Sherb Sunday Cinema: Pump
Sunday, March 22, 7 PM
Michael Brody of the Crested Butte Film Festival writes, “This has got to be the all-time love/hate relationship. Gas. Petrol. Fossil fuels. There's nothing better than filling up the tank, heading south out of town and going exactly anywhere you want in your car or truck. It's the American Dream, our birthright. Something we successfully achieved on our sixteenth birthday and will gladly do until the day we die. And yet, what is the cost? Polluted streams and water tables, and oil spills. The deaths of so many young men and women. All for us and birthright - and the incredible profits for those who supply it to us. Oil. Texas T. Just like the Beverly Hillbillies. So let's learn a little more about the industry and see if we like the stranglehold it has on us. A new film, PUMP, will do exactly that."

The unlikely pair and the three women (Grace Gummer, Miranda Otto, Sonja Richter) head east, where a waiting minister and his wife (Meryl Streep) have offered to take the women in. threat.
