Brand Exhibit - Learning about Brands and Branding - at the Ouray County Ranch History Museum

Board member Tim Force has put together an amazing new museum exhibit, educating all on brands and branding in Ouray County and surrounding area. Highlights include some of the oldest brands of the county branded to fence rails surrounding the exhibit and informative posters.

Poetry in the Garden: A Benefit for Haven House

Philippines Fundraising Dinner & Silent Auction

Dinner and Silent Auction. Donations only. An all-you-can eat Asian buffet with tropical island decor. Silent auction includes native handmade crafts, jewelry and pearls from the Philippines, as well as gift certificates and merchandise from local restaurants, golf courses and businesses. Raising funds for the upcoming mission, "Operation Christmas Share" which provides gifts, clothes, school supplies and other necessities for the needy and orphaned children in the Philippines.

Spirit of the Marathon II Screening

A free screening of "Spirit of the Marathon II" the evening prior to the Mt. Sneffels Marathon and Half-Marathon. Julie Weiss,aka Marathon Goddess, is featured in the film and will introduce the film. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Seats are limited!

Packet Pick-Up for both races will be held at the Hot Springs Pool Friday Aug 8th from 5-8:00 pm. Packets will also be available for the half marathon morning of the race starting at 6:30 in front of the pool. Marathoners can get their packet at the Ridgway Soccer field starting line at 6:00 am. They are strongly encouraged to get them Friday at the Hot Springs Pool.
The 13.1 mile Half-Marathon course begins at the Ouray Hot Springs Park, north of town in Ouray, Colorado. The race winds through the city of Ouray and then goes north on County Road 17 to County Road 23 along the Uncompahgre River Valley and into the town of Ridgway. USTAF certified course. CO11002JF
The Full Marathon starts in Ridgway, goes to Ouray on the same course, and returns to Ridgway. The elevation of Ouray is 7700 ft. and the elevation of Ridgway is 7000 ft. This course is primarily on a dirt county road. It's a beautiful route. USTAF certified course. CO11001JF.
This year we will again have a "Walker" category, which gives those that sign up to walk the Half Marathon the option to start in Ouray at 6:30am.
Kid’s race – Ridgway, Colorado (Soccer field south of town,next to the Marathon/Half Marathon finish line.) Start time - 10:30am Entry fee - $10, , includes snack, cap with race logo,finisher ribbon.
The entry fee includes snacks at the finish line, half price admission to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and an official race t-shirt. Fees go directly to the Mt Sneffels Education Foundation , a non profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives and educational experiences of the youth in Ouray County.
Throughout the morning (starting from approximately 10:30am), bus transportation will be provided from Solar Ranches park (Ridgway) back to Ouray Hot Springs/Fellin Park. Participants who finish the marathon,and half marathon will be awarded finisher medals.

Corkscrew Railroad Bed and Turntable Hike (guided, $10 cost) - Sponsored by the Ridgway Railroad Museum and OCHS. Call 970-325-4576 to preregister. There’s nothing like running through these majestic peaks at the perfect time of year. Registration is just $40, and includes a t-shirt and race packet.
Comparable in difficulty to the Imogene Pass Run between Ouray and Telluride, the Ouray Trail Run circumnavigates the City of Ouray using 13 mi. of single track trails including the Silvershield, Ice Park and Portland trails. With the unsurpassed views of Ouray and the surrounding fall foliage, this is one of Colorado’s most beautiful fall events.
