Located in the center of town, between 4th & 5th Avenues on Main Street, the Ouray Elks Lodge BPOE #492 has been a cornerstone for the county since being founded on June 6th, 1899. The lodge itself was built in 1905 and its historic charm and beauty has captivated many visitors ever since. The Ouray ELKS have prided themselves in always being available to those in need and actively support veterans all over the United States.
The Lodge Building is available for weddings and parties upon request. The lodge boasts a 250 seat dining room, the adjacent lodge room can function as a 200 person dance hall and the lodge has a very spacious and functioning kitchen next to both rooms. The bar-room, located on the first floor, is a sight to be seen. The bar & back bar date back to the historic town of Red Mountain. The room is a great example of victorian elegance meeting western charm.
Visiting ELKS are always welcome to Lodge meetings every Thursday @ 7 PM in the winter and every second & fourth Thursday @ 7 PM through the summer.
