Second Chance Humane Society & Thrift Shop
Second Chance Humane Society has been working with the Ouray and San Miguel County communities and beyond since 1994 to address the needs of homeless pets in this region. We have grown from a small grassroots, volunteer driven, foster care program to an established organization with a fully staffed Shelter at 177 County Road 10, a Thrift Shop at 309 Sherman Street in Ridgway and numerous community services.
With your support we have settled into our permanent location and are now focusing on the construction of a purpose-built dog facility.
Owned and operated by the Second Chance Humane Society, profits from Thrift Shop sales directly benefit the Second Chance animal shelter and its programs. We offer the region a great recycling resource as well as a vast variety of quality shopping options.
The Second Chance Thrift Shop accepts an array of items that are clean and in good shape, but we also welcome large items such as furniture, vehicles, and boats.
Due to limited space and the cost of disposal, we are currently unable to accept large appliances, broken or damaged furniture, outdated computer equipment, or construction materials. If you are unsure about a donation call the Thrift Shop at (970) 626-3233 for assistance.
